Tell Me Thursday - finally face to face
Jul 9th, 2008 by admin
I posted my Wordless Wednesday on Monday because I was just so excited. After a 5 year friendship online I finally got to meet my good friend, Nicole, face to face. She was passing by on her way home from her vacation and yippee skipppee, that meant we could meet up for a couple of hours. I was thrilled to say the least!
Now there are, of course, some people who said to me “you’re gonna what?” - but those folks just don’t get the online friendship thing. It can be one of the best friendships out there even though you’ve never met face to face. And that’s how I feel about Nik. She’s sweet, funny, smart and has a deep caring heart. I’ve seen that through the years as we’ve interacted via email and IM and yes, gasp, even talking once in a while on the phone! She’s been a great business partner, confidant and friend.
And she’s even sweeter in person. Her husband and family were delightful. I enjoyed chatting with her hubs almost as much as her
and her two adorable kids made me smile for the rest of the day, even after they left. It was just a wonderful time. Funny thing was at one point we both were sitting at the dining room table with our laptops open doing a little research - I was almost tempted to IM her just for fun!
Unfortunately they had to pick the very hottest and most humid day of our summer so far to stop by. We’ve been avoiding putting on the air conditioner here just to save some energy costs and live a bit more “natural” but phew-ey was it toasty in here. When I looked at the thermostat after they left it was a steamy 84 degrees with the humidity at almost “raining in the house” conditions! Sorry about that Nik!
(of course the next day was beautiful - nice and cool in the house - ugh).
So now I can’t wait until we can meet up again… maybe in another state or a foreign country paling up with some other mutual Mom Masterminds friends???? Tee hee!
Thanks again for stopping by Nicole - love you girl!

Sounds like you two had a blast. I love meeting my online friends. And you know we are so darn close, we have to make it happen sometime LOL
Yep Angie - I’m sure I drive by your house probably once every other week or so when we head out that way. Would love to get together!!
You are so lucky to get to meet Nicole in person. She is such an awesome lady. She is full of energy and she is always willing to help. Thanks for sharing the wonderful picture and the fun story.

the picture proves that you both were happy of the meeting “eye-ball”. I can truly relate meeting someone in real after years of virtual friendship. it was exciting and lots of giggles and talks inspite the chat time on IM, emails, and phone.
Happy TMT!
Oh how fun! I’m jealous
Glad you ladies finally got to meet!
This is a beautiful story. I am so happy that you both had such a wonderful time. Audrey, Jane and I met up with some fellow New England bloggers on Monday night and we just talked and laughed and shared for over 3 hours!! We could not believe where the time went… and you are right… if you are not in this virtual world, it is hard to understand the close relationships that evolve!
