Tell Me Thursday 4/10/08
This is the Tell Me Thursday for this photo that I put up for Wordless Wednesday yesterday:

This is our lovely mysterious kitty, Gavana. Most people have never met Gavana and they never will because if she even THINKS that someone outside the immediate family is coming up the driveway, she bolts up the stairs and under some bed or secret hiding place.
It’s too bad, because she’s a gorgeous kitty and around us she’s one of the sweetest little things. She “talks” all day long … starting at about 4:30 in the morning when she determines that it’s about time for me to get out of bed cuz she’s bored. She’ll do laps around my head and jump up on my headboard and bonk the blinds in hopes that they’ll magically open to reveal the sunshine that’s not there yet.
Then she chatters the whole way down the hall and stairs where the preaching starts about how she’s starving and has been waiting for her morning treat food.
This shot is her in one of her favorite (there are many) sleeping spots on the back of our couch by the wood stove. Usually she ends up there after she’s sufficiently baked herself right next to the wood stove and needs to cool off.
She’s very empathetic and will start purring if we pet one of the other cats in her presence. She’s definitely a keeper and we’re thankful she’ll let the camera get a glimpse of her so that others don’t think she’s just a figment of our imaginations.
We love our little “Vannie girl”.

She sounds like a wonderful kitty. I’m not sure if I would enjoy the 4:30 wake-up call though.

Such a pretty kitty! I am not really a cat person but reading your story makes me want to pet her.

She is beyond beautiful! It is such a shame that she hides!!

Aww…she’s SO pretty and sweet-looking! My lovey Rosco used to do that same thing when people would come over!
I’m so glad I got to come back today to read the story of your sweet picture!!

Oh what a pretty kitty! I have a shy girl too, Sunshine. She’s a beautiful orange marmalade tabby, very petite and super soft. She’s a daddy’s girl and her fave spot to nap is with him.
But as soon as anyone comes over, she hides. My neighbor once said she isn’t real - just a cardboard cutout!
