Blogging for Chocolate - lessons learned
Well, my blogging for chocolate contest posts have come to an end. Phew - I’m beat. But this whole experience wouldn’t be complete without a post about the lessons learned on the journey, eh? So indulge me for a minute. (or two!)
First, take a few minutes and read Carrie’s post on her blog HERE about how the contest is not about the chocolate. She’s good! Just about the time I was ready to wave the white flag and pass the “I’m the Chocolate Queen” crown over to her (she twittered that she had already done 28 posts - eeek!) she goes and writes this post. Stinker.
Anyway some quick lessons learned:
1. I’ll ignore my kids if chocolate is up for grabs - tee hee, I’m kidding but not really!
2. If I can sit down and write a boatload of posts in a less than 24 hour period, I’m more than capable of writing at least a post every few days of some really good content. That’s an eye opener.
3. I enjoy the journey much more than the end result - as much as I claim it’s about the chocolate, it’s much more about the fun between all of us and anticipating what will happen next.
4. When I thought I was at the end of my rope in listening and writing, I went ahead and pulled up another podcast that I probably wouldn’t normally listen to because of my life situation and was so moved by what was said there I think I’ll be an addict - so much for my goofy assumptions.
5. Wordpress is an amazing system. I actually listened to the podcasts and wrote the blog posts throughout the week and set them up in my wordpress to auto post today. What a great system that is!
There’s more but I’m tired! Thanks for a fun contest Kelly!
